Experience

During your first visit, you will meet our dentists and our staff, tell us about your medical and dental history as well as your desires for the health of your mouth. We will also use our Galileos 3D Imaging machine to take a scan of your head, neck and mouth. Either at the end of the visit or a follow up appointment, your dentist will go over your treatment plan and answer any questions you have.

Going to the dentist for regular checkups will help keep your teeth and gums healthy. Some plaque and tartar buildup is unable to be cleaned at home and needs to be removed in the dental office. Also, untreated decay or disease can rapidly cause greater problems. Early detection is important when fighting any disease, so a dental exam every 6 months is recommended.

We can treat your entire family including children of all ages. It is very important to introduce your children to the dentist at an early age. During the first visit, our dentists will perform a thorough examination of your child’s teeth, gums and mouth to look for any sign of dental diseases or problems. Next, we will perform a thorough cleaning, using special instruments that remove plaque and tartar. In the event of dental disease, we will recommend the necessary treatment to restore your child’s oral health!

Procedures

The first step is diagnosing the type and severity of gum disease, also known as periodontitis. Once one of our dentists has determined that you have gum disease, we will recommend a sequence of cleaning therapies that remove the disease causing plaques from your teeth. We may also recommend the use of antibiotics in reducing the number of harmful bacteria. A cleaning maintenance schedule will be discussed with you at your appointment.

There are several treatment options to replace teeth that have been lost due to trauma, gum disease or decay. The most popular treatment are implants, which are permanent fixtures that are stabilized within your bone and support a dental crown above the gum line. This option is most popular because it most closely resembles your natural teeth in terms of appearance and comfort. Other options include bridges and partial dentures.

Nightguards are custom designed appliances that are generally made from acrylic and meant to aid in preventing tooth wear and fracture. They offer relief for clenching and grinding by keeping your upper teeth from contacting your lower teeth. Nightguards can also lessen the stress on your jaw and allow your muscles to relax. They can also reduce tension headaches, ringing in the ears and give you a better night’s sleep.

Dental sealants are a type of preventive treatment that involves the application of a thin resin coating material to the deep grooves of the teeth. This procedure prevents cavities from forming on the chewing surface of the teeth. The sealant acts as a barrier to protect your teeth from tooth decay. They function by providing a barrier that stops food particles and bacteria from entering the grooves of the teeth.

YES! Thanks to the advanced technology of CEREC, Dr. Reagan and Dr. Rooney can craft a crown perfectly fitted for your tooth that can be placed within the same day. Using high-resolution 3D imaging, we can make an accurate digital model of your mouth, design a crown and cement it into place within one appointment slot.
